Seeing the same doctor over time ‘lowers death rates’
A University of Exeter study that shows seeing the same GP over time can lower death rates highlights the benefits of patients being able to see their own doctor.
According to Kevin Barrett, Chair of the PCSG, “Continuity of care is something all our members strive for. We recognise the human aspect of medicine is as important in primary care as anywhere in the health system and I welcome the findings of this study. It underlines what we at the front line of health provision have known for some time.”
